Ten hours until takeoff for my mission trip to Peru and one final pill to ingest beforehand. I'm vaccinated in full for Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A , Typhoid Fever, and Malaria pills are tucked safely in the suitcase. I wonder, perhaps such precautions will save me in the short-term but what adverse effect do these modern marvels have years down the road? I'm impressed nonetheless at the pure magic in medicine. Can't wrap my head around the genius of it all. Or genius of any sort for that matter.
Whatever the case, the shots and pills will ensure I survive to at least bring back a souvenir or two for those who've asked. Perhaps that's all that matters.
